"The Atrium" is internationally known for its beauty and facilitation of our magnificent interdisciplinary environment. The atrium is an essential component of the culture at the Petit Institute as it is the meeting place or heart for everyone in the biotechnology complex.
It is equipped with a small restaurant, Nectar, and comfortable sofas and tables for researchers and students to gather informally. The atrium space reaches three stories high with a central spiral staircase. Adorned with artwork by artists Karen Stoutsenberger and Irving Geis, the atrium feels like more like a museum than a typical university building.
Visit the atrium any time of the day an you will certainly run into a familiar face or colleague. In addition to finding the best cup of coffee on campus, the atrium is used for Petit Institute events such as poster sessions, receptions and other gatherings, all of which serve to strengthen our community.
