Although no undergraduate classes are taught at the Petit Institute for Bioengineering & Bioscience, our interdisciplinary research institute is supportive of undergraduates in several ways.
Petit Undergraduate Research Scholars Program
The Petit Scholars program is a competitive scholarship program that serves to develop the next generation of leading bioengineering and bioscience researchers. Open to all Atlanta area university students, the program allows undergraduates to conduct independent research in the state-of-the-art laboratories of the Petit Institute.
Pioneer Undergraduate Newsletter
Pioneer is a monthly newsletter based in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory. Founded in Spring 2007, it has grown to cover biotechnology news, student and department events, and outstanding faculty, students, and alumni.
These awards fund students to conduct undergraduate research with Georgia Tech faculty and offset travel expenses for undergraduates to present their research at professional conferences. Between 200-300 competitive awards are offered each year.
